What is it?
A growth, wellbeing and 3D/4D imaging scan is a safe ultrasound examination performed during pregnancy to assess fetal growth and development while also providing detailed 3D and 4D images of your baby. The scan uses high-frequency sound waves to create real-time images of the pregnancy.
This examination is typically performed between 24 and 32 weeks of pregnancy, which usually provides the best balance between detailed growth assessment and high-quality 3D/4D imaging.
3D/4D imaging is performed as an adjunct to clinical assessment and is obtained where image quality allows.
